To combat violence in the Englewood community, Mark Harris created the Englewood Film Festival- using art as a way to change lives.
With no financial backing from local businesses and politicians, Harris has created an online, fundraising campaign. He has raised $1, 250 towards his $10K goal.
Harris hopes to make a step toward changing Englewood’s tradition of violence by screening 12 films and offering a series of discussions during the three-day fest. The schedule has not been fully compiled, but Harris said he is giving priority to local talent that has a positive message to share.
The 2nd Englewood Film Festival will be held Oct. 26-28.
